Discover Dominica Authority News Update for the week ending Friday January 4, 2013

Dominica to be promoted at Caribbean T20 Tournament in Trinidad and St. Lucia

Dominica will receive coverage on ESPN Caribbean and ESPN 2 through its sponsorship of the Windward Islands Cricket Team for the Caribbean Twenty 20 Tournament. Games will be played at the Queens Park Oval in Trinidad from January 6 – 12, 2013 and at the Beausejour Cricket Grounds in St. Lucia from January 15 – 20, 2013. A perimeter banner highlighting Dominica's natural beauty will be placed at both venues and Discover Dominica Authority's logo will be displayed on players uniforms and training gear. The Authority has organized several promotional activities in St Lucia to include a press conference, radio contests and sales calls to travel agents. Promotional activities are being undertaken in close collaboration with the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control. The match schedule for the Windward Islands Cricket Team is as follows:

January 9 - Windward Islands vs Jamaica, Queens Park Oval 4 pm

January 10 - Combined Campuses & Colleges vs Windward Islands, Queens Park Oval, 4 pm

January 12 - Windward Islands vs Leeward Islands, Queens Park Oval, 4 pm

January 15 - Windward Islands vs Trinidad & Tobago, Beausejour Cricket Grounds, 8 pm

January 17 - Windward Islands vs Barbados, Beausejour Cricket Grounds, 8 pm

January 18 - Windward Islands vs Guyana, Beausejour Cricket Grounds, 8 pm

Dominica to participate in Salon de la Plongee in Paris

Dominica will be represented at a major dive show in Paris, France, Salon de la Plongee which takes place January 11 – 13, 2013. Dominica's overseas representatives, Interface Tourism will attend the trade show as well as representatives from the Dominica Watersports Association and Sunset Bay Club. Over 50,000 visitors patronize the dive show annually which also provides the opportunity for forming partnerships with dive operators to increase visitor arrivals from France.
